In the aftermath of a natural disaster, many people have questions about how the situation might affect their taxes. People who experience a disaster – or anyone who knows someone who did – can visit IRS.gov for information that will answer their questions.

Here is a rundown of some of the tools and resources on the IRS website. Much of this information is available in English and Spanish:

    This page provides IRS news specific related to disaster relief. There are links to each state where taxpayers can find information tailored to their area.

  • Tax Relief in Disaster Situations
    The link includes lots of information related to disasters. Taxpayers can find everything from news releases about disaster relief related to specific storms and links to the latest news from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

    Taxpayers can find answers to many questions that people might have after experiencing a disaster.
