This new feature enables safe and secure messaging between dealers/sellers and the IRS. Dealers can now contact the IRS through Secure Messaging and respond in real time. Contact the IRS through Secure Messaging On the Welcome to IRS Clean Energy page, Select Connect With Us Using the Secure Messaging button. To use secure messaging for the first time, dealers and sellers will need to say Yes to accept the terms of Secure Messaging. To begin, enter your entity's employer identification number (EIN). Enter your entity's name. Select Vehicle Dealers and Sellers Clean Energy Topic. Select the Welcome Message in your inbox. Click Reply in the top right of the message box. Then you may enter your response and attach a file (if desired). Attachments can be up to 1 GB. Click Send. For each individual case, dealers and sellers should use the same email thread to correspond with the IRS. Dealers and sellers may reference Publication 6025 Secure Messaging: Contact the IRS through Secure Messaging User Guide for assistance.
