Subject: Correction for Certain Tax Credits Are Not Available in Modernized e-File (MeF)

Attention: Software Developers, Return Transmitters and Authorized IRS e-file Providers/EROs

The IRS is in the process of updating the MeF system to allow for the recent extender legislation. The tax forms listed below for Tax Year 2019 will continue to reject if an extender-related credit is claimed. Please refrain from sending these forms with extender-related credits until further notice.

The IRS will issue a Technical QuickAlerts bulletin when the MeF system is updated.

Note: The Form 3468, Investment Credit, was removed from this list. The change for this form only involved style sheet.

Form 6478 - Biofuel Producer Credit

Form 6627 - Environmental Taxes

Form 8835 - Renewable Electricity, Refined Coal, and Indian Coal Production Credit

Form 8844 - Empowerment Zone Employment Credit

Form 8864 - Biodiesel and Renewable Diesel Fuels Credit

Form 8900 - Qualified Railroad Track Maintenance Credit

Form 8910 - Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit
