Subject:  Tax Year 2023 Assurance Testing System Questionnaire


Attention: Software Developers and Transmitters
 
Tax Year 2023 Modernized e-File (MeF) Assurance Testing System (ATS) questionnaires will be available October 2, 2023.  
 
You are required to complete the MeF ATS Questionnaire for each software package that you are going to test. 
 
You must be an authorized user listed on the IRS e-File application and have one of the following roles to submit questionnaires:
  • Principal or user granted Principal Consent authority or
  • Responsible Official or Delegate Users with Add & Change Software Package Information authority granted.
To complete the questionnaire and receive a Software Identification number for each product you plan to test, complete the steps below:
  • Sign into your IRS e-file Application. Your application must be in completed status. 
  • Select Organizational Role from the Select Your Organization page.
  • From the External Service Authorization Management landing page, select the View/Edit icon to access your completed application. 
  • Once in the application, select the Software Packages tab. 
  • Select Add Software Package toward the bottom of screen.
  • Complete the Add Software Package Information pop-up.
  • Once you have completed the required fields, select Save
Note: If you have multiple packages, you will need to complete the pop-up multiple times.
