News EssentialsThe Newsroom TopicsCredits and Deductions Under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 IRS Resources | Reminder: Several Energy Credits Online Resources Are Available The Internal Revenue Service is reminding dealers and sellers of online resources available to register their businesses on the IRS Energy Credits Online (ECO) Tool. Clean vehicle sellers and licensed dealers must use the tool to successfully claim or transfer the new or previously owned clean vehicle credit for vehicles placed in service January 1, 2024 or later. The IRS is committed to helping dealers and sellers navigate this process. The IRS has released several ECO resources to help dealers and sellers with registration, submitting time of sale reports, and credit transfers. Publication 5867, Clean Vehicle Dealer and Seller Energy Credits Online Registration User Guide is an excellent resource to reference when registering for the first time. IRS also has a video. The video will walk you through how to register on the Energy Credits Online Tool.
