Subject:  Publication 1345 has been updated Publication 1345 "Handbook for Authorized IRS e-file Providers of Individual Income Tax Returns" has been updated. This publication provides important information for Tax Professionals and Authorized IRS e-file Providers regarding applying and participating in IRS e-file. All participants should read this publication to become familiar with the requirements for continued participation. Here are a few of the highlighted changes: Changed "Website Challenge Response Test" to "Protection Against Bulk Filing of Fraudulent Income Tax Returns" on page 7. Added Form 1040 SR language to page 33 "Software Developers" and "Additional Requirements for Software Developers Participating in Online Filing" sections. Added new paragraph to "Tax Refund-Related Products" on page 36 to include: Software/Transmitters should note that the IRS has changed the designations and definitions of financial products.
