Useful Links:News EssentialsIRS Resources | Issue Number: 2026-01IRS clarifies recent update to FATCA XML Schema files As we communicated in a FATCA News and Information newsletter (Issue 2025-10), the IRS recently updated the FATCA XML Schema files to the fatcaxml_v2.0.1 version located on the FATCA IDES resources and support information webpage to align FATCA Reporting with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) country names updates. This new version revises certain attributes within the FATCA XML Schema v2.0 as provided by the ISO update, specifically to the isofatcatypes_v1.2.xsd file. The fatcaxml_v2.0.1 was deployed to production on Monday, September 29, 2025. Only FATCA reporting filers impacted by the following country name changes will need to download and apply the updated fatcaxml_v2.0.1. There are also a few additional currency code updates within the new version as noted below.
