Attention: Software Developers and Transmitters Beginning October 1, 2022, software developers will initiate Modernized e-File (MeF) Assurance Testing System (ATS) questionnaires electronically by accessing their e-Services account at https://www.irs.gov/e-services and submitting questionnaires for each form they are testing. Important notes to assist in completing questionnaires: • Software developers must complete a questionnaire for each software package they are testing. • The system will automatically issue the software identification number for each package once the questionnaire is complete. • Software developers will continue the testing process with assigned e-help desk assistors. • Existing software developers will continue to receive initial contact emails from their assigned e-help desk assistor at the start of testing. • New software developers or those who did not participate in testing last year should contact the e-Help desk at 866-255-0654 when they are ready to test. • To create or edit questionnaires, authorized users must be listed on the IRS e-File application and have one of the following roles: - Principal or user granted Principal Consent authority
- Responsible Official or Delegate Users with Add & Change Software Package Information authority granted (this authority will be available September 26th).
• The IRS e-file application must be in Completed status with the Software Developer provider option in Accepted status to add a software package. • Follow the steps below to complete the questionnaire:
• sign into your IRS e-File application • select the Software Packages tab • select Add Software Package • complete the Add Software Packages pop-up • select Save If you need additional assistance, contact the e-Help desk at 866-255-0654. |
