1. Manual IDES confirmations sent to IDES users The IRS sent manual email notifications of IDES transmissions to IDES users on Oct.18 – Nov.1, 2024. We ask that you review these notifications and follow the instructions in the email regarding whether there are any transmissions that may need to be resubmitted to IDES. If you believe that you should have received an email notification and have not yet received one from the IRS, please email us at lbi.fatca.ides@irs.gov. We will research your inquiry and provide you an update regarding your IDES transmission notifications. Please include any information you have regarding the file transmitted, including file name, transmission ID, and sending GIIN. As always, during any IDES transmission, ensure:

2. New IRS Public Key is available as of Nov. 1 The new IRS Public Key is available as of November 1, 2024. All FATCA reports filed after November 1, 2024, must have the new security certificate uploaded with their FATCA filing. Please download the new IRS public key at www.ides-support.com.
3. Historical IDES data available in IDES Web Dashboard Enrolled IDES users can utilize the IDES Web Dashboard to obtain more information on historical IDES transmissions. Users can query the system to search, filter and view transmission history, such as alerts and notifications. The IDES Web Dashboard contains predefined reports and queries to analyze IDES data based on specific criteria. 4. Upcoming IDES multi-factor authentication implementation IDES will implement a multi-factor authentication option for a more secure sign-in to the IDES system. The planned implementation is scheduled for December 12, 2024. The implementation will require users to obtain a unique authentication code sent to their associated email accounts. There will not be an option to receive an authentication code through users' cellular phones. We will continue to keep you updated on the IDES multi-factor authentication implementation.
5. Reminder: IDES use for entities not required to obtain a GIIN It is important for all financial institutions to be aware that a registered Global Intermediary Identification Number (GIIN) or FATCA Identification Number (FIN) is required for a successful FATCA filing. If you are a Financial Institution (FI) filing on behalf of another FI or Third-Party Filer, please ensure that there is a FIN or GIIN registered with an associated IDES user account for each FATCA filing that is filed on behalf of another FI. You may encounter an IDES filing error notification of "Certificate Error – No Certificate Found for the GIIN" or "Digital Signature Error" if a GIIN or FIN is not associated with the FI FATCA report that is filed by another FI.
